I soon discovered that having a son who lived in Kennesaw was advantageous as a lot of Georgia history and beauty is in the northern portion of Georgia. I’d plan trips to my son’s house and map out my day trips on the computer at home before I went to Kennesaw.
My efforts have in some ways paid off. In October 2009 I won the Georgia GPS Give-Away for this picture:
I also won another photo contest with this picture and placed second with this picture in another contest.
These two pictures received honorable mention in the Georgia GPS Give-Away.
Now I have infected another class member with my Explore Georgia enthusiasm and we hope to excite other class members with our gusto to discover the history and beauty of Georgia.
Since September 2009 we have made three days trips to different areas of North Georgia. In April or May we are planning another day trip and we're going to have another classmate join us. We'd like to invite any other class members who would like to join us to come along.
Coming next will be the story of our first trip and you won't believe this story. We went over two mountains to get to a waterfall about ten miles from his house. Of course, he's upgraded his camera since that time and has a 12 mega pixel camera. I am not jealous, I am not jealous, I am not jealous. At least that's what I keep telling myself.
